Watch: Tom Latham's Sensational One-Handed Catch To End Faf du Plessis' Promising Innings 1

Close-in fielding in cricket is all about bravery and anticipation and New Zealand star Tom Latham has proved it right with a sensational catch during the third Test against South Africa.

Latham was standing at short leg when South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis attempted a paddle sweep. The Proteas star, who was batting on 53, made a sweet connection with the ball and it was looking destined to fly past the close-in fielders. However, just when he was getting into the position to play the sweep, Latham anticipated it. But catching the ball was still tough as it was high and wide to Latham’s right side. But the Kiwi player reaped the reward for his brilliant anticipation and as soon as the du Plessis hit the shot, Latham moved towards his right and completed a sensational one-handed catch.

Here is a clip of that stunning catch:

The catch from a different angle:

Meanwhile, the visitors were all out for 314 in their first innings. Quinton de Kock top-scored for them with 90 while Hashim Amla (50) and du Plessis (53) chipped in with half-centuries. Matt Henry was the pick of the bowler for the Black Caps with figures of 4 for 93.
