Sarfraz Ahmed, skipper of the Pakistan Cricket team has admitted that the quest of World Cup 2019, has already begun, as they gear up for the Asia Cup 2018.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has been in good form recently are one of the favourites to lift the Asia Cup. The men in green will begin their campaign against the qualifiers Hong Kong on September 16.

Talking to media in Lahore, Sarfraz Ahmed said they are ready for the six-team tournament. Furthermore, they are ready for the big game against the arch-rivals India on September 19.

We are fully prepared for the tournament, as far as the match against India is concerned, we will give out best. Match against India is always a big game, but we are ready for it.”

Momentum is the key and we have high moral and hope that we will perform our best in the upcoming tournament,” Sarfraz notes.

Commenting on his performance, Sarfraz Ahmed said he is working on hard. Moreover, he also mentioned that he has performed whenever he has got the opportunity.

I’m working hard on my batting, recently whenever I got the opportunity I have performed.”

As far as reserve wicketkeeper is concerned, we haven’t played a big series commences on 4 to 5 Test matches. So we haven’t picked any one yet. But if we need we have a good backup available in shape of Mohammad Rizwan,” Ahmed adds.

We would like to bat first: Sarfraz Ahmed

Revealing his strategy, the 31-year-old skipper noted that they would like to bat first in the innings. He cited that it is tough to bat under the lights.

We would prefer to bat first because it is very difficult to bat under the light. The weather would be very hot and humid under the light which will help pacers. So we will try to bat first or chose cording to the pitch,” he concluded.
