India’s veteran Test wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has been included in Bengal’s squad for the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 final starting on March 9. India’s top-ranked wicketkeeper-batsman Saha is expected to be added in the lineup in place of opener Abhishek Raman, who is going through a dry patch at the moment.
It should be noted that Saha has recovered from surgery on his right ring finger which he had picked up during the historic day-night pink ball affair against Bangladesh at the iconic Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
The Indian cricket team selectors did not pick Saha as Rishabh Pant got the nod ahead of him for New Zealand Tests which India suffered 2-0 whitewash in New Zealand.

It has been a long time since Saha played for Bengal as his last appearance came in the 2017-18 Ranji season.
However, he has a pretty decent average of 38.33 from four matches he had played for the team.
Wriddhiman Saha eyes to deliver for his domestic team in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 final:
Meanwhile, the state selectors picked uncapped batsman Sudip Gharami with injured Koushik Ghosh and youngster Golam Mustafa being the only two exits from the 16-member squad, that got the better of Karnataka in the semi-final.
Anustup Majumdar remained not out on 149 as he helped his side, to thrash a highly-rated Karnataka by 174 runs within four days and make their first Ranji final after a prolonged gap of 13 years.
Bengal as a team has an upper hand with pace and batting attack in their arsenal. They will play the winners of the other semifinal fixture between Saurashtra and Gujarat in an away game.
