While Dhoni’s retirement speculation is hugely growing up, Yuvraj feels that it is unfair to talk about Dhoni’s retirement without knowing his wish.
MS Dhoni has a long successful international career. In his international career, Dhoni is the successful captain, batsman, finisher, wicketkeeper etc. Under his captaincy, India won the ICC World T20 2007, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni partnership provided many memorable successes for the national team in past.

After the semi-final of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 in last July, Dhoni hasn’t played a cricket match yet. Since last July, he has made himself unavailable for the cricket. He hasn’t even clarified publicly about his future.
So, in this confusion period, Dhoni’s retirement speculation from international cricket is rising. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently clarified that Dhoni has no retirement plan at present.
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh feels that it is unfair to talk about Dhoni’s retirement. He believes that everyone should give him time to decide.
Yuvraj told Times Now, “It’s unfair to him that people keep talking about his retirement. We need to give him time to decide what he wants. He is MS Dhoni who has done so much for Indian cricket.”
There is no point in comparing Rishabh Pant to MS Dhoni – Yuvraj Singh
In the absence of MS Dhoni, the 21-year-old Rishabh Pant is handling the wicket-keeping role of the national team. There is no doubt about the talent of this youngster. In the early period of his international career, Pant achieved some success.
However, the young wicketkeeper-batsman is currently struggling with the bat. The left-handed batsman is consistently failing to score big runs while the team management is continuously providing huge support to this youngster. While he is getting good starts in many games, he is losing his wickets immaturely due to the poor shot selections.

Yuvraj feels that it is unfair to compare inexperienced Pant with the highly experienced MS Dhoni. The former Indian cricketer also believes that it is important to understand Pant rather than criticise him.
Yuvraj said about Pant, “He needs to be spoken to and somebody needs to get the best out of him. Criticising him is not the solution but I’m very keen to see who speaks to him and helps him understand better. There is no point in comparing him to MS Dhoni. It’s taken many years to become MS.”
Rishabh Pant made his international debut in February 2017. He has already played 11 Tests, 12 ODIs and 20 T20Is.
