ToggleWhile cricket is absent in the present days due to the coronavirus pandemic, the cricketers are connecting with their fans, friends and teammates through the social media sites. During a recent interaction between the legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh and the present Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah, the former shared some stories during his cricket career. He also revealed a hilarious story when he felt that he should retire from the game.
Yuvraj Singh played for the Indian team between 2000 and 2017. Though he faced some ups and downs in his career, Yuvraj had the successful career majorly in international cricket. He was one of the heroes who helped India to win the ICC World T20 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Yuvraj also won the Player of the Tournament trophy during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

In the IPL career, Yuvraj served for six different teams. In last June, he decided to retire from international cricket. While he is not available for the IPL, he is still featuring in the foreign leagues.
In the recent video chat with Jasprit Bumrah, Yuvraj said that he realised to retire from the game when he was facing the youngster Bumrah. Apart from serving for the Indian team, they also played together for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL.
Then, Yuvi hilariously revealed that the Australian pacer Andrew Tye, his teammate during second time Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) tenure, started calling him ‘Yuvi Pa’ and it triggered him to think about his retirement.

Yuvraj told Bumrah, “I realised I should retire after I played with you (Jasprit Bumrah) guys in the final stages of my career. But I actually thought of retirement first in 2018 when I was playing the IPL for Kings XI Punjab and Andrew Tye (Australia fast bowler) started calling me ‘Yuvi pa’.”
Yuvraj Singh predicted Jasprit Bumrah’s success in early days
When Yuvraj faced Bumrah in his early professional career, the all-rounder predicted the success of the right-arm pacer, who has the unorthodox bowling action.

Yuvraj added, ”Three years back I had predicted that you would become the number one bowler in the world.”
I kept on improving, and I persisted with my action: Jasprit Bumrah
Then Bumrah also revealed that many thought he wouldn’t play for long. However, he has proved them wrong by consistently improving his bowling despite maintaining his unorthodox bowling action.

Bumrah said, “Many people told me I won’t play for long, there was an expectation that the last person to play for the country would be me. They told me I would just play Ranji Trophy. But I kept on improving and I persisted with my action.”
After making his international debut in early 2016, Bumrah has played 14 Tests, 64 ODIs and 50 T20Is where he has taken 68, 104 and 59 wickets respectively.
