The former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is jointly holding the record of the fastest half-century in T20 cricket history. Yuvraj has recently named two Indian batsmen who can break his fastest T20 half-century record.
It was the match against England in the Super Eight stage of the ICC World T20 2007, where Yuvraj not only hit six sixes in an over of Stuart Broad, also recorded the 12-ball fifty after hitting the last sixer during Broad’s disastrous over.

While it is still the lone record in the fastest T20I half-century, two more batsmen have managed to equal this record in T20 cricket. Chris Gayle (Melbourne Renegades) slammed 12-ball fifty during BBL 2016 (against Adelaide Strikers at Melbourne) and Hazratullah Zazai (Kabul Zwanan) hit 12-ball fifty during APL 2018 (against Balkh Legends at Sharjah). However, still, there is no batsman who has successfully beaten this record.
Yuvraj earlier believed that the Caribbean star Chris Gayle and former Proteas captain AB de Villiers could break his fastest T20 fifty record, While Gayle managed to equal that record, De Villiers’ fastest T20 half-century was in 19 balls.

Yuvraj recently said on Sportscreen’s YouTube video, “Two guys I thought could break the record are Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.”
KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have the potential: Yuvraj Singh
According to Yuvraj Singh, the Indian batsmen KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya can break his record of fastest fifty in T20 cricket. Talking about this, Yuvraj also mentioned Rahul’s record of fastest fifty in IPL history which he managed to complete in just 14 balls (for Kings XI Punjab against Delhi Capitals at Mohali on 8th April 2018).

Yuvraj claimed, “KL can do it, he has 50 off 14 balls in the IPL but scoring a 50 in international cricket where all are quality bowlers and in IPL where you get two quality bowlers is not the same. But KL and Hardik have the potential.”
Hardik’s fastest T20 half-century was in 17-ball during the IPL 2019 when the Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder was playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Kolkata (28th April 2019).
