Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has pledged to donate a sum of INR 50 lakh to the PM -CARES fund in a bid to stop the coronavirus pandemic. In India, confirmed cases witnessed a spike of 3,577 while the death toll is at 83.

Yuvraj Singh urges people to practice social distancing
The flamboyant athlete appeared in a video, urging his followers to take precautionary measures. He pleaded to his fellow countrymen to practice social distancing and sanitize hands properly. “We are stronger when we stand united. I will be lighting a candle tonight at 9pm for 9 minutes. Yuvraj’s former teammate and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has pledged to feed 5,000 underprivileged families in Jalandhar. Not too long back, the duo was seen urging cricket fans to support the Shahid Afridi Foundation. The gesture backfired as many Indians questioned their commitment towards the nation.

Harbhajan Singh pledges to feed the homeless
“By blessings of Almighty, Geeta (his wife) and I pledge to distribute ration to 5000 families residing in Jalandhar, who are struggling to feed their families during these difficult times. We will continue to help and support our fellow citizens in whichever way we can lessen the burden of struggle,” Harbhajan said.
Harbhajan said that his set of friends are coordinating with Punjab Police in order to feed the poor people. The spinner also added that he will continue to show his support to the homeless and jobless until normalcy returns.
