The 29-year-old Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal recently reveals the name of the batsmen who play the spinners very well in the present time.
Asian cricketers are very famous for handling the spinners very well. For a long time, many Indian batsmen have dominated the spinners. Yuzvendra Chahal recently named the present top batsmen who handle the spinners very well. His first two names were the top two Indian batsmen – Indian captain Virat Kohli and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma.
Chahal said during a live Instagram session, “Virat and Rohit are obviously quality players of spin bowling so they will be at the top.”
Chahal then named the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. According to him, Williamson makes the life difficult for the spinners due to playing the ball lately on the slow pitches.
Chahal added, “Also, Williamson makes life difficult for spin bowlers because he plays the ball really late, especially on a pitch that is slow.”
Yuzvendra Chahal feels Shoaib Malik is a better batsman against the spinners than Steven Smith
Chahal also praised the senior Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik. During the Asia Cup 2018, he experienced Malik’s impressive batting quality against the spinners. Chahal also feels that Malik is a better batsman against the spinners than the former Australian captain Steven Smith.
Chahal claimed, “I was bowling to Shoaib Malik during the Asia Cup and was impressed with the way he was taking singles of good deliveries. I realised that this player has a lot of experience and I think he is better than Steve Smith when it comes to playing spin bowling.”
In the Asia Cup 2018, India and Pakistan met twice, once in the Group Stages and the second time during the Super Four stage. Though India won both the times very easily, Shoaib Malik scored 43 and 78 runs respectively.
During that Asia Cup 2018, Malik scored 22 runs off 28 balls against Chahal. Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman scored 29 runs off 39 balls against the left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in that same tournament. Both the spinners failed to dismiss him in that tournament.
