The former left-arm pacer told PTI, “He (Bumrah) is a special talent, he has got that awkward action which works as an advantage for him over the batsmen. Bumrah is keen to learn and drive to excel. He has been working on his fitness, adding new things to his bowling. He has evolved as a bowler in a short time, that have been the keys to success.

“It is about how you take things into stride and what kind of approach you have. I think Bumrah has shown all the attitude of achieving that success.”

Jasprit Bumrah has played 12 Tests, 58 ODIs and 42 T20Is where he has taken 62, 103 and 51 wickets respectively. At present, the right-arm pacer is the no.3-ranked Test bowler and no.1-ranked ODI bowler.

Zaheer Khan spoke about the Indian team’s experiment in T20I cricket

Two Indian wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have recently faced omissions from the T20I squad. Before these omissions, they have performed consistently in limited-overs cricket in the last one-and-a-half-year.

Talking about this, Zaheer said, “They have been transparent about what their approach is. At the end of the day, we just have to wait and see how things evolve and shape up. We have plenty of time for the T20 World Cup (to be held in Australia), so we will have to wait and see how things evolve and what kind of experimentation happens.

“So everyone is allowed to have a thought process, we have seen with other teams as well. We have seen with England team, before the World Cup, they have been transparent about it and so is this (Indian) team.”

Australia will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 from 18th October to 15th November 2020.

I am looking forward to see how Kagiso Rabada quickly he adapts in the Test series

After levelling the T20I series (1-1) in the ongoing India tour, South African team is now preparing for the Test series. India and South Africa will play the three-match Test series between 2nd October and 23rd October 2019.

Zaheer Khan feels that South Africa’s success in the upcoming Test series is depended on the pacer Kagiso Rabada. The former Indian pacer believes that Rabada’s adaptation to the Indian condition and properly using the reverse-swing can provide success to the visitors.

Zaheer said, “There are so many good bowlers and (Kagiso) Rabada has been right up there and you have seen that in such a short time. He has made such massive impact on Test cricket and the numbers are a reflection of that fact.

“In India, we will have to see how he adapts to conditions. You have to adapt to conditions and for any fast bowler to be successful in India, he should possess the ability to bowl with the old ball and use the reverse swing. So, I am looking forward to see how Rabada goes about it and how quickly he adapts in the (Test) series.”

The Test series will be a part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-21).
