It’s quite possible that Theo Walcott would not have made this list if not for his profligacy against Swansea City on Saturday.
Despite bagging a brace in the 3-2 win at the Emirates, the England forward missed three glorious chances to register a hat-trick and instead fired himself to joint-second on the ‘missed chances’ table alongside Defoe.
The 27-year-old has started the season in decent form but could have been so much better for a player once hailed as the saving grace of English football. How times change…
