10 things to look out for in the Premier League this weekend

The Premier League this weekend will start early as Liverpool and Chelsea kick-off on Friday night in the new early kickoffs this season. But that will only serve as an appetizer for what lies ahead in the weekend with the other 18 teams fighting it out for three points.

There are plenty of games throughout the weekend to keep the fans busy so let’s take a look at 10 things to look out for in the Premier League this weekend:

Clash of the opposites:

One believes in heavy metal football and the other in more traditional football and this weekend will see a clash of ideologies when Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte meet at the Stamford Bridge in the first big test for the Italian. Both clubs are too evenly matched to pick a winner from and it is sure to produce an exciting contest on the night.

Arsenal to try for three in three:

Having taken a point from the Champions League fixture, Arsenal will want to keep up their good work in the Premier League having won their last two games in the league. They will face a trip to the KC stadium where Hull have already beaten Leicester City and will hope to put in their best and come out with all three points.

Burnley test for Ranieri:

After making a disastrous start to the season, the Foxes have won their last two games in all competitions and are on a high going into this game against Burnley. Sean Dyche’s side held the Tigers in the last game but travelling to the home of the Champions will not be an easy task for them this weekend.

City to keep their 100% record intact?

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is yet to face defeat or even draw a match from the start of the new campaign and will not be expected to break that record when they face the Cherries this weekend. Eddie Howe’s side are also fresh from a victory but playing Guardiola’s rampant side in their own backyard can hardly yield another result.

Slaven Bilic needs some results:

After a superb season last time around that saw them settle for the 7th place, West Ham Untied have made an average start to the campaign taking 3 points from the first 4 games. However, they have a decent chance to get the better of the Baggies this weekend as Pulis’ side have looked way weaker than their opposition this weekend.

Can Koeman keep his unbeaten record intact?

One of the very few teams that are still to be beaten this season, Everton, will face a Middlesbrough side that is taking small strides to retain their top-flight status early this season. Both teams have played some decent football this campaign and will fight it out for all three points on the night at the Goodison Park.

Can Jose Mourinho bounce back:

After falling to their first defeat in the new season under the new manager, Manchester United will be devastated with the loss in the Manchester derby last weekend. However, they will face a stern test against a Watford side that is fresh from a victory over the Baggies making this game a must watch for the football fans.

Mark Hughes in desperate need of results:

After picking up just a point from the first 4 games, Stoke City are lying at the bottom of the table and are also emotionally down after their drubbing against Tottenham last weekend. However, they will hope to get a result this weekend from a trip to the Selhurst Park as they face a Palace side that is fresh from a victory over Middlesbrough.

St Marys test for Guidolin:

Southampton, who lost their manager to Everton in the summer are off to a bad start to the season picking up just two points from the 4 games. However, they will host a Swansea City side that managed to hold on to a point against Antonio Conte’s Chelsea last weekend and will hope that they can get something from this game to slowly go up the points table.

Can Pochettino keep his team’s tempo up?

The Spurs were outplayed in the game against Liverpool but were clinical against Stoke more recently. It is hard to understand which of the two teams will turn up this weekend but Pochettino will need the latter one if he is to get the better of David Moyes’ Sunderland side that is fresh from a 3-0 drubbing against Everton.
