5 spicy encounters to watch out for in the round of 16 of the English League Cup including the Manchester Derby

The Premier League this weekend produced some thrilling games between closely matched sides in the domestic league. However, the clubs in the league will now turn their attention towards the domestic League Cup which is into the round of 16 this weekend. There are a number of top class games to look forward to and here are 5 such games that will keep you busy:

Arsenal vs Reading:

Tuesday, 25th October; KO: 7:45 pm BST (12:15 am IST on Wednesday)

After a 0-0 draw at the weekend in the league, Arsene Wenger will hope to get back to winning ways when his team takes on Reading for a place in the pre-quarterfinals of the competition. Reading have been decent and heave beaten Brighton in the previous round to set up this trip to the Emirates.

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur:

West Ham United vs Chelsea:

A London derby in the League Cup is always a fierce affair as both teams will be hell bent on leaving the pitch with a victory. West Ham and Chelsea are fresh from victories in the league at the weekend and will be high on confidence going into this game. Conte will go all out for a victory as he has no European fixtures to worry about in the rest of the season.

Manchester United vs Manchester City:

Wednesday, 26th October; KO: 8:00 pm BST (12:30 am IST on Thursday)

Arguably the biggest match in this round of the League Cup, the Manchester Derby, will be played on Wednesday this week. Manchester United was humiliated in the first meeting between the two sides in the league and are also fresh from an annihilation against Chelsea at the Bridge. However playing at home, United will want to knock Guardiola’s side out of the tournament in this round this week.
