Bayern Munich are hopeful of landing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harr Kane in the summer of 2023, according to German journalist Florian Plettenburg. Bayern already had their eyes on the England striker after their talisman Robert Lewandowski left for Barcelona this summer. However, Tottenham have long made it clear that they have no intention of selling their prized asset.
The Bundesliga champions, after a stern resistance finally let Lewandowski join the Catalans for £41 million. The Poland international built his legacy at the Allianz Arena, netting 344 goals in just 375 games. While it was a difficult task to replace him, Bayern did manage to acquire Sadio Mane from Liverpool for merely £30 million. But they still want a natural no.9 and Harry Kane is their ‘dream’ option as was confirmed by the club’s chairperson Oliver Kahn.

Bayern confident of luring Harry Kane after snatching Mane from Liverpool
Harry Kane has established himself as one of Europe’s top goal poacher over the years at Tottenham. He has so far racked up 253 goals in 393 appearances for Spurs, and a remarkable 50 in just 73 games for the Three Lions. No surprise Bayern want the England skipper to lead their frontline, which already has some serious talent in Mane, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Thomas Mueller and Leroy Sane.
Revealing a detailed approach of the Bavarians’ approach towards Harry Kane, Plettenburg said:
“I am totally convinced Harry Kane will become a very, very hot topic at Bayern Munich for the next transfer window. It depends on the striker’s performance this year. Bayern bosses have told them ‘let’s see what happens. We have Mane. We have Coman, Sane, Gnabry and so on’.
“But if they don’t work and they will miss that number nine, then I told you, Bayern Munich is a number nine club. Harry Kane will become very hot. There was definitely contact between the Bayern responsibles and Charlie Kane, the brother of Harry Kane. We hear it confirmed that Harry Kane can really, really imagine joining Bayern.

“It’s too early to say he will do this. It depends on the situation with Tottenham. Nobody could believe Sadio Mane would make that step from the Premier League to Bayern, so why Harry Kane shouldn’t join him?”
However, Bayern will find it immensely difficult to convince Tottenham who are in no mood to cash in on their striker. The North Londoners had rejected a whopping £150 million bid from English champions Manchester City for Kane last summer. On the other hand, Bayern are known for not splashing this kind of money in the market to get their targets.
But with Kane’s contract running down at Spurs, which will have only 12 months at he end of this season, club chairman Daniel Levy will certainly not risk losing the striker for free in 2024. Further on, the 29-year-old is approaching his 30s and is yet to win a trophy at club level. With the lure of leading a project at Allianz Arena and winning some titles, Kane too could be tempted to switch sides next summer.
