Manchester United have been a huge boost in their attempts to sign a replacement for David De Gea if the Spaniard decided to leave Old Trafford this summer.
According to reports, United’s key target is Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris and it has been revealed that United can sign the keeper for as little as £17.8million in the summer due a commitment made to the player buy the North London club.
France’s leading newspaper L’equipe claims that, Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy had reached a verbal agreement with Lloris which stated that Tottenham will agree to sale the keeper if they receive a bid anything beyond £18million for the keeper.
David De Gea looks certain to leave Old Trafford in the summer and Lloris United’s number one choice to replace the Spaniard. With the reports of this £18million verbal agreement emerging, it is only a matter of time when Manchester United start the bidding war for the France International captain.
L’equipe understands that, Levy made this promise to Lloris when the Goal keeper was penning a fresh 5-year deal last summer. Lloris signed for Tottenham back in 2011 and is only 28-years old right now. He can easily play the best part of next 5-6 years at a top-top club in Europe.
Another key reason for Lloris’ exit is seen as Tottenham’s failure to secure Champions League football as the goal keeper admitted last month about Champions League being the competition he looks forward to playing in every single day.
All the signal are there for United to make a swoop for the player. Spurs manager Daniel Levy must be regretting the day when he made this £18million worth of promise to his Goal Keeper Hugo Lloris.
