Portuguese and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has recently revealed that he misses the Spanish capital Madrid. He hopes to return to this city soon.
In his club career, Cristiano Ronaldo spent long times in the English city Manchester and Spanish city Madrid. From August 2003 to June 2009, Ronaldo served for the Manchester United. Later, from July 2009 to July 2018, the Portuguese played for Real Madrid. Since July 2018, Ronaldo is serving for the Italian giants Juventus.
In both Manchester United and Real Madrid, Ronaldo achieved huge successes. During his tenure for United, the Red Devils won three English Premier Leagues (2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09) and one UEFA Champions League (2007/08) along with the other success. In that period, Ronaldo won one Ballon d’Or in 2008 along with other individual trophies.
On the other hand, his success in Real Madrid was very high. During his career for Los Blancos, the Spanish club won two La Ligas (2011/12 and 2016/17) and four UEFA Champions Leagues (2013/14, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18) along with some other trophies. The Portuguese star won four Ballon d’Ors (2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017) during his career for the Whites.
I felt sorry when I left Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo
Recently, the most goal scorer in Real Madrid history, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Madrid to receive the prestigious Marca Leyenda award. At the award ceremony, Ronaldo claimed that he missed Madrid more than Manchester. He has wished to return to Madrid soon.
Ronaldo said, “I felt sorry when I left Real Madrid.
“I miss both [Manchester and Madrid] but because of life’s circumstances I have lived more years in Madrid, my children and my girl were born here, so I miss Madrid more.
“This trophy will be in a very nice place in my museum. Madrid is special, I travel a lot but there are few cities like Madrid. Much of this award is derived from what I did in Madrid. It is a Spanish trophy and leaves me very honoured. Thanks to all those who have helped me to achieve it. It is a pride for me. And I hope to return to Madrid soon.”
The Portuguese star spoke about his most important trophy victory
Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that he never dreamed of reaching this level. Talking about his best trophy victory, Ronaldo named the UEFA Euro 2016 for Portugal.
He added, “I never thought about [reaching this level]. My dream was always [just] to be a professional player.
“All titles are important but possibly [the 2016 European Championship] because it is special. It is not the same, when you win something for your country and you know that it is more difficult, it is the most important thing in my career.”
Ronaldo is hopeful of winning the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League for his present club Juventus.
He said, “I don’t know [if I will win the Champions League this year with Juventus]. We will try, as always. Hopefully Juventus wins.”
Juventus will start their 2019/20 Serie A journey on 25th August through the away game against Parma. Before that, the last eight consecutive Italian league title winners Juventus will begin their new season with the Supercoppa Italiana match against the 2018/19 Coppa Italia winners Lazio.
