EPL clubs on high alert as Tottenham steal lead in race for French starlet

The amount of success the London-based franchise Tottenham Hotspur have had this season will surely see them attract some top class European talent in the summer transfer window after the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino has accumulated a relatively young side at White Hart Lane and is looking to rule the Premier League at least for another season and is set to make some intelligent additions to the squad at the end of the season.

And recent reports from France Football claim that the Spurs are eyeing yet another youngster for a potential move to the club this summer.

French national and Stade Rennais FC striker Ousmane Dembele has had a standout season with the French outfit and it is understood that Pochettino wants to add him to the squad for the next season.

Dembele has grown on to become one of the hottest youngsters in Europe this summer after a season where he has scored 12 goals and also bagged 5 assists in the domestic league.

At just 18, Dembele still has a lot to learn and will only become better as the years go by and the English franchise want to him to progress under their club for the next few years.

A number of clubs from all over Europe are linked with the youngster who has recently denied having talks with any European club.

The likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested in the 18-year old while it was at a time reported that German giants Bayern Munich have already contacted the forward.

However, Dembele denied all such rumors and revealed “I was not even aware there was the talk of me at Bayern, I read it in the press. I have no agreement with Bayern,” in a recent interview with Goal.com.

He also revealed that he is not thinking about a move away from the club at the moment and that he wants to concentrate on his current situation at least till the end of the season.

“I am well, I do not let [the rumours] go to my head, I am only thinking about what happens on the pitch, about football,” he added.

The 18-year old has all the makings of a fantastic player but it is to be seen if he can cope with the challenges of the Premier League.

However, if they want their man, Arsenal, United and Liverpool will have to act quickly else Tottenham Hotspur looks like they will run away with the signature of the 18-year old.
