When the French international left Manchester United in 2012 to join Italian giants Juventus, United received just £800,000 in compensation but little did they know that they would have to spend a world record fee to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford. United had to splash £89 million to sign him. The transfer beat the previous record fee of an estimated £85 million that Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale in 2013.
