Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has revealed Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny tries to lure him over a potential move to London. However, the 25-year old was quick to confirm his loyalty to Atletico Madrid as he admitted of not leaving the club anytime in the near future.
The French star is currently considered the third best player in the world beyond Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as he finished third in the recently finished Ballon d’Or gala night.
He has been a subject of interest for a number of big clubs across Europe which include Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, despite all the speculations about his future, the Frenchman remains happy under his favorite coach Diego Simeone.
Speaking about Laurent Koscielny’s efforts to persuade him, Griezmann said: “For Arsenal, he speaks to me about it often.
“But I’m good in Madrid. I don’t want to leave. I’m happy here,” Griezmann stated.
“I have just had a little girl, I play my games, I’m good. Sorry, I’m going to stay. But Arsenal are a good team, they play good football. I’m so good at Atletico. Honestly, I don’t see myself leaving.”
Griezmann is largely speculated with a move to Manchester United particularly as his closest friend Paul Pogba made a move to Old Trafford earlier this summer and Jose Mourinho being a huge admirer of the talented forward.
However, he confirmed: “I’m so good at Atletico. Honestly, I don’t see myself leaving.
“People often talk to me about England too, but I’m good here. And also, going from Atletico to Real must be difficult. I don’t necessarily have the desire to try, nor to ask those who have already done it. No, I’m not thinking about it.”
Griezmann has a massive £88 million release clause in his contract and Atletico Madrid are not interested to sell at any cost.
