Despite leading almost until the end of the match against Inter Milan to losing it 2-1, Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino says he is calm and not feeling any pressure.
Pochettinno’s men suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Inter Milan.
In a tough away game, everything was going for Spurs until the 84th minute of the match. Earlier, Christian Eriksen broke the deadline and earned his side a vital goal at the 53rd minute of the game.
Later, Mauro Icardi pulled one back, but it was Matias Vecino, the hero for Inter Milan who scored the match-winning goal in the stoppage time and stunned the English side. However, Pochettino is not panicked after the defeat and said he is ready to take on the upcoming challenges.
“I am so relaxed; I am so calm because I know football, In the same time when you win you get a lot of praise that sometimes you don’t deserve. When you lose you must keep the balance and accept the criticism and that people are going to think differently and of course try to find the reason why we lose. That is how I understand football, and I accept that situation. That is why the balance is so important.”
The manager further added,
“When you win, you need to keep the balance and when you lose you need to accept the criticism and keep the balance too. That for me is the most important. The group is ok. The group is, of course, a little bit anxious about winning games because it’s normal when you don’t win. Sometimes it’s good to feel the pain, the defeat, not only the one, two but three. It’s so important to be clever and be strong. Football is like life; it’s impossible to keep 70 years of happiness.”
Pochettino will be hoping his side has overcome the heartbreak defeat like him and put up a good show in their upcoming Premier League game against Brighton on Saturday.
