Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid have agreed a £21.7million deal for Kieran Trippier.
28 year old, England right back, Kieran Trippier has moved to the Spanish capital to join Atletico Madrid. He has signed a 3 year contract, keeping him at the club until 2021.
Atletico Madrid signing the English defender makes him their first English signing in 95 years. He joined the squad immediately after the announcement. The players gave him a guard of honour at training. He is likely to make his debut on 20th of July against Numancia in the Club friendlies.
Trippier had starred for the national team in World Cup 2018, Russia. He left the World Cup with an injury after England’s semifinal exit from the tournament. However, he struggled in regaining his scintillating form back for the club.

The right back spent 4 years at Tottenham making over 100 appearances for them. He joined the North London side from Burnley in 2015. Trippier played his last game for Spurs in their Champions League loss to Liverpool in his new home stadium Wanda Metropolitano.
Trippier had not travelled with the squad for the Asian Premier League. Pochettino has also left their left back, Danny Rose at home indicating his exit from the club soon. With 21 year old Argentine Juan Foyth, showing good trust to play for Argentina in the Copa America, Pochettino may depend on him for the next season at the right back position.
Tottenham have also shown interests in Fulham’s teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon, and a deal may take action, since Fulham’s relegation to the Championship.
Atletico have reinforced their falling side after making some important signings. They’ve lost very important players from the side this summer, namely; Antoine Griezmann, Rodri, Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Juanfran. In a quest to revamp their squad they’ve made quite afew signings .
They have signed 19 year old Portuguese sensation Joao Felix for a €126 million deal from SL Benfica. 24 year old defensive midfielder, Marcos Llorente was transferred in a deal worth €30 million from Real Madrid C.F.
F.C Porto centre back Felipe and midfielder Hector Herrera have joined the Spanish side in a €20 million and a free deal, respectively. They also signed Left back Renan Lodi from Brazilian club Athletico PR for €20 million. And lastly, Kieran Trippier joining from Spurs.
