Juventus set gears running right after talismanic frontman Carlos Tevez informed the club board that he intends to return to Argentina, to continue his football career at Boca Juniors, his former club, as reported earlier by Goal. The club moved swiftly to secure the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic. The Croatia international will now partner striker Fernando Llorente for the Turin giants.
Mandzukic is set to cost Juventus around €15millions upfront, on a 3-year contract. The player will also have the option to extend his stay at the club for one year. He is set to undergo his medical by the end of this week, after which Juventus will officially unveil their new forward.
Mario Mandzukic had an underwhelming season at Atletico Madrid, with the player strongly hinting that his future may lie elsewhere. Manchester United were reportedly supposed to sign him, as they are short of weight upfront, with the future of Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez in doubt.
The Turin giants remain heavy favourites to win the Serie A in 2015-16. They had already signed Paulo Dybala from Palermo for €32millions, along with the Bosman transfer of Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, at the end of his contract.
