Manchester United hijack Chelsea for World Class defender John Stones
According to the latest report from Guardian, Manchester United are ready to hijack Chelsea’s deal for Everton’s centre back John Stones. The Red Devils have reporetedly made their interest known to the player via intermediaries and “would welcome him at Old Trafford,” but have yet to make a formal offer.
Jose Mourinho is very keen to sign the player as his first major signing of the summer and as the successor for aging John Terry at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have already made two official bids to sign the defender only to see Everton reject both the bids.
The Blues are expected to make an improved thirs bid in the coming days but with Manchester United joining the race, the Blues are expected to be come second. The 21-year old English defender is one of the best young centre backs in entire Europe and the Red Devils are keen to add him to their ranks.
Chelsea have seen an improved bid of £26 million for John Stones rejected by Everton and the club is looking for a sum around £34 million as he has leadership qualities to lead a defence which Manchester United have been lacking last season.
The Red Devils are keen to sign Stones as they are ready for a player plus casah deal as an alternative which includes Jonny Evans as part of the deal. Manchester City are also interested in the player but the Red Devils are tipped as favorites and preferred destination for the English international.
John Stones has been in good form as he managed 27 appearences for Toffees last season.
