Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has posted a touching goodbye message for his former teammate Sadio Mane. The Senegal international was unveiled as a Bayern Munich player on Wednesday (June 22).
The Bundesliga champions have secured Mane services for £35.1million. After landing in Germany on Tuesday and passing the medical, Mane put pen to paper on a three-year contract worth £250,000-a-week at the Allianz Arena. Signing for Bayern has ended Mane’s glittering 6-year stay at Liverpool.
Mane arrived at Anfield from Southampton in 2016 for £34m and played his last match for the Reds in the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid. During his six-year stay at Anfield, Mane won six major trophies, claiming every major club honour.

An integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Liverpool, Mane scored a total of 120 goals in 269 games for the club. In his last season with Liverpool, Mane scored 23 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions. In the same season, he also won the Africa Cup of Nations with his country.
Mane’s first trophy with Liverpool came in 2019 when he played an integral role in Liverpool’s Champions League triumph. In the following season, he helped the Reds win the Premier League title. Mane then went on to complete his English trophy set by winning the League Cup and FA Cup this year. He also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019.
Mohamed Salah’s message for Sadio Mane:
Few hours after Sadio Mane was unveiled as a Bayern Munich player, Mohamed Salah took to Twitter to pay tribute to his former attacking partner. During his stay at Anfield, Mane had formed a formidable partnership with Salah.

Things, however, had soured between the two during the game against Burnley in 2018-19 season. Mane had lost his cool and had reacted furiously after Salah’s refusal to pass to him when he was in a good position to score. Since then, several reports hinted that everything was not well between Liverpool’s star duo.
Salah’s parting message for Mane, however, has put those reports to bed with his latest message for Mane. Posting several pictures of himself and Mane on Twitter, Salah stated that the Senegal star would be missed, writing:
“It’s been quite a ride! Thank you for all the good times and I wish you all the best in your new adventure! You will be missed by all of us.”
