Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen is angry with his own club executives after they have agreed to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) bosses to play their home matches in the I-league on the poor standard of artificial turf at the Barasat Stadium. Mohun Bagan will kick off the in the League on coming Saturday against the new debutant of the league, Aijwal FC of Mizoram. Sen after his boys’ training on Wednesday said, “It is frustrating that we will again have to play on the poor quality artificial turf at Barasat Stadium again. The players often get injury after playing on that turf. And it has been more frustrating that we have been informed about the fact only three days before our opening game. Initially, we were informed by our club that we will be playing our opening match on the natural grass at the Salt Lake Stadium.”
Mohun Bagan now will train at the Barasat Stadium for the next two days before their game. Sen added saying more, “I was training my boys with some special plans since last 23rd November. But that training was only for the grassy field.”
However, Jeje Lalpekhlua, the Indian striker who was supposed to continue with Mohun Bagan for this season also, is reportedly talking to East Bengal club officials. It has been learnt that Jeje had a long discussion with East Bengal officials on Wednesday.
