Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has clarified that club captain Sergio Ramos will not be sold to any club this season. Sergio Ramos was strongly linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United this season after it was revealed that the defender was not happy with the new contract offered to him. But since then many things have happened and Ramos has been nomintaed as the club new club captain after Iker Casillas’ departure.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had said earlier that Sergio Ramos was a possibility and it could happen, while Perez had mentioned that Sergio Ramos was not for sale at Iker Casillas’ farewell.
Real Madrid is currently playing their pre-season matches at China. They had won the International Champions Cup beating Manchester City at Australia. It was Ramos’ first triumph as Real manager.
When Perez was asked about Ramos, he said: “There are some players with contracts who want to go who will not be allowed to.”
Florentino Perez sounded confident that they will not lose their star player to Manchester United in this transfer window.
Real Madrid were interested in Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De gea, but the Premier League side were adamant about not leaving him unless Ramos was included in the deal. Now that Real Madrid have clarified their stance in the transfer saga, it is kind of imminent that neither of the parties involve in a deal this transfer window.
