St Totteringham’s Day: Twitter Reaction on Arsenal finishing over Tottenham
May 16, 2016 at 11:54 AM
After a long wait of 21 years finally Tottenham a chance to finish above their London Rivals Arsenal in the Premier League table. Spurs already got one hand one the runners-up spot and needed to win over the relegated Newcastle United to seal their place. However, Arsenal needed to beat Aston Villa at the Emirates along with a miraculous Newcastle victory over Spurs too, for them to finish second.
Though it looked like Pochettino’s men wanted to set up the stage for their North London arch enemy Arsenal, as they played awfully. Spurs were thrashed by a 5-1 score-line as Benitez’s Newcastle looked to grab the glory before leaving the Premier League. On the other hand, Giroud’s hat-trick helped the Gunners win 4-0 over bottom placed Aston Villa.
Twitter was stormed by fans and players of Arsenal as they celebrated St Totteringham’s Day — the day Arsenal finish above Tottenham.
