Tottenham Hotspur backed their manager Antonio Conte as was promised after he took them to the Champions League after claiming the fourth and ultimate spot last season. Conte had already indicated last season that his future with Spurs would depend on the investment Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman would make since he wanted to fight for titles.
Levy handed a hefty budget to the Italian this summer as Tottenham splashed over £150 million on the signings of six players, while acquiring two on free transfers. Conte has beefed up the depth of his squad as he aims to clinch a first trophy for Tottenham since 2007/08. Their business has also been a good mix of talent as well as experience with the likes of Richarlison, Bissouma signed alongside Perisic and Fraser Foster.

Tottenham Hotspur focused on depth with 8 new signings
This should definitely be a successful transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur in long time since it has witnessed 8 arrivals. Spurs have however focused on their squad depth this summer as evident from their signing in every department. Despite having two world-class strikers in Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son in their ranks, Spurs splashed £52 million on brining in Everton striker Richarlison.
The midfield was reinforced with Brighton’s in-demand midfield engine Yves Bissouma for £26 million. A massive four defenders were also roped in, as Christian Romero’s loan deal was made permanent for £45 million, left-back Destiny Udogie arrived for £16 million, right-back Djed Spence for £13 million and another center-back Clement Lenglet on loan. A wing-back Conte is familiar with was also signed in Ivan Perisic for free.
Last but not the least, free agent goalkeeper Fraser Foster was signed to deputise for Hugo Lloris. However, after spending over £150 million, Tottenham were unable to earn some good money. They could only manage to pocket £34 million in sales, through Steven Bergwijn [£28 million] and Cameron Carter-Vickers [£6 million].

Others in Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Sergio Reguilon, Giovanni Lo Celso, Joe Rodon and new signing Destiny Udogie were sent on season long loan spells. Nonetheless, Tottenham should be happy with the business they have done, given the bolstering of every department has been done.
