Tottenham Star Named Premier League Player Of The Month For January Ahead Of Arsenal and Everton Stars
The month of January is usually one of the busiest in the campaign as clubs play in three different cup competition. Every club in the competition will play least of 5 games in the month with 3 league games and these games become all the more important as complacency starts to creep in.
Clubs from around the points table found it hard to keep up with their goals for the season but a few of the teams managed to come out of the month victorious and on top.
Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottemham Hotspur, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have all found some decent form since the turn of the year while Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have slowly slipped down the points table.
There were also a number of star players who put in some sizzling performances consistently for their side and there were a number of contenders for the ‘Player of the Month’ award for the month of January.
English international Dele Alli, who has helped Tottenham Hotspur to a couple of important victories in January was named the Player of the Month in the Premier League for January.

The Tottenham Hotspur attacker scored 5 goals and picked up an assist in the month, making him the most productive player in the league.
Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurddson, Everton’s Seamus Coleman, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane were also included in the short-list for this award.
Everton’s Seamus Coleman has been in superb form in January, moving on to become an important player for Ronald Koeman’s side this season.
Paul Clement has got Swansea City to play some gritty football recently and they have picked up some decent results recently and Sigurddson is the man who was in the middle of this revival.
English striker Harry Kane, got himself a hat-trick against the Baggies in the month and also helped them win another few games to be on the this list for January.
Alexis Sanchez, has been one of the most consistent players in his position in the Premier League and he made it to this short-list for the 3rd consecutive month.
Dele Alli scored a brace against Chelsea to give his side a moral boosting victory, ending Antonio Conte’s unbeaten run in the Premier League.
He was at the heart of everything exciting happening in the Tottenham attack and is expected to help them push Chelsea to the title.
Speaking to the media, Alli said, “It’s the first one I’ve won and it’s a real honour.
“I think the whole team played brilliantly this month,” he added.
Asked for his highlight in January, he said: “I’d probably say the two [goals] against Chelsea, just because of how big the game was for us and for the fans as well. To score and win was a great feeling.”
At just 20, Alli is now one of the most exciting players in Europe and has the potential to turn into one f the best in Europe.
