On Wednesday night in the UCL, Barcelona thrashed Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with the help of Lionel Messi hat-trick. On the other hand, Arsenal outclassed Ludogorets Razgrad by 6-0 with the help of Mesut Ozil’s late hat-trick. Also Bayern Munich beat PSV Eindhoven by 4-1 while PSG and Atletico Madrid also clinched victories.
In the Group C’s big clash between Barcelona and Manchester City ended with the home side Barcelona’s domination. 10 men Barcelona beat 10-man Manchester City by 4-0 with the help of Lionel Messi’s hat-trick. Lionel Messi opened the scoreline on 17 minutes of the match.
Former Barcelona and current Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was shown a direct red card at 53 minutes after making a blunder by saving a ball with his hands at outside the box. On 50 minutes, Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne had a chance to equalise the scoreline from a penalty spot but he failed to convert that as that was saved by Besiktas goalie Fabricio. However, Napoli finally equalised the scoreline on 69 minutes from another penalty which was scored by Manolo Gabbiadini. Aboubakar scored his second goal in this match at 86 minutes through a header which finally marked as a winning goal for the visitors.
In the Group D matches, Bayern Munich beat PSV Eindhoven by 4-1 while Atletico Madrid edged past Rostov by 1-0.
Hosts Bayern Munich beat PSV Eindhoven by 4-1. With the goals of Thomas Müller (13′) and Joshua Kimmich (21′), Bayern took a 2-0 lead over the visitors. Luciano Narsingh scored at 41 minutes for the visitors as they reduced the lead to 2-1.
