MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) proved to be the victors in the 24th match of the IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match was an interesting one and the fans in the stadium saw a rain of sixes from both sides.
Faf du Plessis of RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first on a typical Bengaluru pitch. Mohammed Siraj accounted for Ruturaj Gaikwad early.
Then Devon Conway (83 in 45 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes) added 74 runs with Ajinkya Rahane (37 in 20 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes) for the second wicket. Then Conway was joined at the crease by Shivam Dube, who smacked 52 in 27 balls with 5 sixes and 2 fours, adding 80 runs for the third wicket.
In the end, some lusty blows from Moeen Ali (19* with 2 sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (10) helped CSK to 226/6 in 20 overs.
Virat Kohli fell for 6 runs and then Tushar Deshpande accounted for Mahipal Lomror for a duck. and Faf du Plessis (62 in 33 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours) and Glenn Maxwell (76 in 36 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes) added 126 runs for the third wicket.
However, the asking rate became too much for the lower-order batters once Du Plessis and Maxwell got out and RCB could only manage 218/8 in 20 overs. Tushar Deshpande picked 3/45 and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets as CSK won by 8 runs.

Meanwhile, during the CSK innings, MS Dhoni was prepping to go out and was practicing with the bat by swinging it. However, he was doing it near his CSK teammate Deepak Chahar, who feared getting hit and moved out.
In a video uploaded to Twitter, Dhoni can be seen practicing his shots in the dugout. He intimidated Chahar as he finished his shadow shot in front of his face. The video will surely leave you in splits.
