Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was a happy man as first, his team managed a big win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last IPL 2023 league match, and then also qualified for the playoffs thanks to Gujarat Titans’ win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 21, 2023.
Sent into bat after losing the toss, Hyderabad posted a competitive 200/5 on the board as openers Mayank Agarwal (83 off 46) and Vivrant Sharma (69 off 47) played impressive knocks. MI, however, chased down yet another target of 200-plus with ease. This time, Cameron Green was the star performer. He smacked 100* off 47 balls as MI eased to victory in 18 overs.
Mumbai, which was chasing 201, lost Ishan Kishan for 14 after he mishandled a pull from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and was caught at midwicket by a diving Harry Brook. However, a 128-run partnership between Green and his captain, Rohit Sharma (56 off 37), gave his team the advantage.
Green appeared to be landing heavy blows with superb rhythm, even as Rohit initially struggled to gain pace. At the conclusion of the powerplay, MI had a score of 60/1 as he slammed an unsteady Kartik Tyagi for two fours and a six. In the next over, Mayank Dagar bowled two more maximums. Green hit Vivrant Sharma for a six to reach a 20-ball 50.
After Rohit got out, Suryakumar Yadav (25* off 16) joined Green and had some fun, also helping the latter in reaching his maiden T20 hundred. The duo added an unbroken 53 for the third wicket, combining to hammer Umran for 20 runs in the 16th over. Fittingly, Green brought up his hundred and MI’s victory with a single off Bhuvneshwar.

Meanwhile, during the drinks break, the MI skipper was seen committing a blunder due to his absent-mindedness.
In a viral video, Rohit can be seen trying to drink from a closed bottle of drink before realizing that the cap was still on. He then unscrewed the cap and drank from it.
