It is the historic moment for New Caledonia because it is their very first appearance in any FIFA competition.

i) The Journey: New Caledonia secured their berth for the upcoming 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, after reaching the final of 2017 OFC U-17 Championship. However, in that final game, they had suffered a humiliating defeat against New Zealand by a 7-0 margin.
ii) Head Coach: Dominique Wacalie (Nationality – New Caledonia) is managing this youth team since April 2017. It is the very new role for him which will be very interesting to see in the upcoming U-17 World Cup.
