Waqar Younis (2000) : The Pakistani speedster was banned by John Reid from playing in the triangular series involving Pakistan-South Africa and Sri Lanka as he was caught for ball tampering in the year 2000. The bowler was handed a one-match ban but was available for the rest of the series. Waqar’s actions were caught on the magnifier while Azhar Mahmood was also penalized for the same. Waqar was caught scratching the seam of the ball with his thumbnails in the ODI against the Proteas.
