WWE has yet to announce the details of The Boneyard match scheduled between AJ Styles and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. For the first time ever in the history of the company, one such match will be held and that too at the grandest stage of them all.
We expected to hear some details about the match on the go-home episode of Monday Night Raw, this week. But that was not the case as Undertaker only cut a pre-taped promo around the match.
Revealed: Which Three WWE Superstars Detected With Coronavirus?
AJ Styles revealed a few details on his Mixer channel about the Boneyard match which will take place in a graveyard like setting at WrestleMania 36.
AJ admitted that even he was wondering what a Boneyard Match could be. It looks like it would have a similar setting like Graveyard which has become synonymous with the Undertaker character.
AJ Styles then indicated that WWE is not calling it a Graveyard Match or a Buried Alive Match because of what’s going on around the world. COVID-19 outbreak has left the world terrified and at these circumstances, hosting such a match may not be suitable to the WWE Universe. So they had to rename it as a Boneyard match,
“There’s a reason why I think it’s called a Boneyard Match,” Styles said. “Because we didn’t want to say cemetery or a graveyard. You know, everything that’s going on, it sucks. Boneyard is slang for graveyard, it really is.”

AJ Styles then moved ahead to ask his co-host what he would think the match rules could be attached to a Boneyard Match. They thought it might look like “a Street Fight in a cemetery” and AJ responded with, “Bingo!” It means that Undertaker and Styles will be freed to do anything during the match which gets contested under No Disqualifications rules.
The Phenomenal One has also indicated that there will be a referee officiating the match as well as to call out the finish, but it was not made, clear. However, AJ did confirm that the match won’t take place at an arena setting, like the WWE Performance Center. But it has been taped from an outside area with perhaps graveyard in the backdrop.
The longest-reigning WWE Champion in the history of SmackDown sounded glad because WWE organized a different gimmick match for him against The Undertaker which all will remember for a long time,
“I don’t want to give anything away,” AJ said. “I want you guys to enjoy this and because of the circumstances, I am so glad that my opponent is The Undertaker because it’s an opportunity to have a different match because I don’t want to have it in an empty arena.”
