Ajinkya Rahane, Radhika Rahane Set to Welcome a New Member in Their Family – Report

If a report of the Pune Mirror is to be believed, Team India’s Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane and his wife Radhika Rahane are set to become parents, soon. With Rahane and Radhika expecting their first baby, Rahane has been announced as a replacement in Hampshire squad for the World Cup-bound Aiden Markram, who is partaking in the ongoing Royal London Cup before joining South Africa to prepare for the ODI showpiece.

Rahane during his stint in England will feature in eight County Championship matches before representing India during a Test series against the Windies.

“I am excited to be the first Indian to play for Hampshire, a county which has a glowing reputation. I hope to score runs and win as a team and would like to thank BCCI for allowing me to play,” Rahane said in Hampshire’s release.

The newspaper revealed that Rahane and Radhika are consulting a  reputed doctor in Mulund, a suburb in Mumbai’s north-east region. Besides, they’re expected to announce the news to the public in the time to come.

The duo is excited to welcome a new member in their family. It becomes pertinent here that Rahane and Radhika have tied the knot in September 2014, in Mumbai. Rahane, who’s a black-belt in Karate, has excelled in the domestic fold before breaking into the national circuit.

The 30-year-old Rahane made his international debut in 2011. It further saw him appearing in 90 One-day Internationals (ODI), 56 Tests and 20 Twenty20 Internationals.

In the recent past, Rahane rode on to his stellar performances apart from the occasional failures. However, he kept on pushing himself to become the spotlight in away conditions particularly.

Concurrently, the right-handed top-order batsman Rahane is plying his trade with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR).

He had a tough time as a leader before being sacked as a skipper.

As of now, Steven Smith is leading Royals, as they had a mixed season during the ongoing IPL 12. Also, he is playing his final match of the IPL 2019 season. The Jaipur-based franchise has won five matches in 12 games they’ve played in this season. They are lying at the sixth spot on the IPL 2019 points table.

Interestingly, it would be altogether a decision to watch out for that who will lead Royals for the remainder of the IPL 2019.

So far, Rahane has amassed 392 runs in 12 matches. He has slammed a fine hundred in this season against Delhi Capitals (DC).
