Bobby Lashley might have just received back the golden phase of his career with the arrival of MVP in his corner. He will be seen competing in the main event level after thirteen long years and going by the current indications, bigger things are in store for him around the upcoming summer. WWE booked him in a championship match and now it seems, he will also get the match against Brock Lesnar.
As confirmed this week, Bobby Lashley will challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Backlash pay-per-view event on June 14th. He returns to the title picture after a hiatus of thirteen years and has high hopes for the near future. The Dominator recently spoke with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT and talked when he could have the long-awaited match with Brock Lesnar.

McCarthy mentioned how Bobby Lashley almost got his match with Lesnar in 2018 after beating Roman Reigns clean at Extreme Rules. But WWE then booked a few Triple Threats with the winners facing each other. Lashley then lost to Reigns in the rematch on Raw who faced Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Bobby Lashley admitted that he thought of getting the match back then, like most of the fans. It didn’t happen but now with the right people in the right places, he believes a lot of really big things could be happening in WWE in the next few months.
“We are fans the same way – well, at least I am – the same way everybody else is,” Lashley said. “When I heard the winner gets Brock, I was like, is this it? Am I finally getting it? Then it’s ‘not now!’ I don’t know what the situation is. I don’t know what the case is. But I do believe eventually it will happen before Brock and I are senior citizens. The one thing that people – and I don’t want to switch gears here – but Drew McIntyre is a Brock Lesnar. He definitely is. I think that a matchup with Drew is just as exciting as Brock, to me, if done right.”

Bobby Lashley then stressed on the fact that how he always wanted to receive the match against Brock Lesnar which remained one of his goals to sign a contract with WWE,
“Of course, I want the Brock match. I’m not erasing that [laughs]. But I think both of those matches are great matches. I think eventually the dots will be connected and I think right now with the right people in the right places, I think a lot of really big things could be happening.”
Bobby Lashley received the question about the main goal for him to have the second run with WWE, and what motivates him. Besides winning a world championship, Lashley seemed interested to put over the younger talents just like any other senior talent in the WWE.
“And one thing they did, they wanted to make the younger guys. But at the same it in making the younger guys, they had to have something credible for the younger guys to go after. And I think that I’m one of those guys. The younger guys should be hungry to come and beat me. Because I’m not someone you should just be able to beat,” Bobby Lashley stated.
