Negative heat has always been there for Bobby Lashley and Lana since day one of this storyline angle as the latter one betrayed her husband. Bobby Lashley recently took part in an interview with Sports Illustrated and noted that he has received messages filled with hatred for featuring in this angle with Lana.
People have been extremely rude towards him for what is only an angle on TV which does not have any connection with reality. The saddest part is that people even used the N-word for him,
“Yes, I’ve experienced a tremendous amount of hate. We as a society come out and we’re anti-bullying, anti-hate, anti-this, anti-that, but I think we actually pick and choose who we hate and bully.”
“It’s from the fact that this is interracial, because I’ve had guys saying the n-word to me and, ‘I’m going to kill you, we’re going to get you when you come down south.’ I just kind of sit back and laugh about it. I’ve even experienced some people that are in the business of wrestling—tweeting things and posting pictures, and I just sit back and laugh,” Bobby Lashley admitted.
Despite what the reactions have been, the storyline has become a sure-shot hit in terms of ratings and viewership. The wedding between Bobby Lashley and Lana had quite the epic segment to close out the final Raw of 2019 which had 40 percent more viewers than all the other segments of the show. Vince McMahon is reportedly so happy about this that he might stretch the angle to WrestleMania 36.
