WWE Universe must have had a good time while enjoying the post-Royal Rumble edition of SmackDown which was billed as a Super SmackDown from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As seen last night, the show ended with Roman Reigns and The Usos standing tall over Corbin and his goons. Another pleasant part of the show was that we now have a new Intercontinental Champion on the blue brand ending the pathetic reign of the earlier champion.

First Title Match For WWE Super ShowDown Confirmed On SmackDown

WWE Super SmackDown episode on FOX witnessed Braun Strowman defeating Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. It is the first time that the Monster Among Men has been able to witness the prestigious title in the WWE.

Plus, it also earned him the first-ever singles title for him ever since debuting on the main roster, four years ago. Earlier to this, he won the tag team titles for two occasions.

For weeks, Braun Strowman has been chasing down Shinsuke Nakamura for a shot to the Intercontinental Championship after his return to the blue brand following a short hiatus. The big man had pinned the King of Strong Styles on two occasions during tag team matches to earn the right to be called the number one contender for the mid-card title. But Nakamura was refusing to square off until WWE officially announced the match on last night Super SmackDown card.

New Title Contenders & Valentine Day Segment Announced On WWE SmackDown

As always, Sami Zayn and Cesaro were accompanying the Intercontinental Champion to the ring trying to give him the upper-hand. That strategy eventually backfired. The finish of the title match witnessed Cesaro and Sami trying to interfere.

But their cheap shots instead allowed Braun Strowman sending Nakamura into an exposed turnbuckle that Sami had uncovered. Strowman then hit his pendant Running Powerslam on Nakamura for the pin.

It was a right move from the creative perspective to end the lackluster title reign of Shinsuke Nakamura which was a total flop. Giving the Intercontinental title to a strong babyface like Braun Strowman is rather a good choice who can regularly defend it and make it more prestigious.

Once the match was over, the new champion took to Twitter to send a message to the former champ quoting,

“I told you! @ShinsukeN got these hands and I got this title! Good luck trying to stop this train now! #Smackdown.”
