David Warner says it was challenging to face Trent Boult while chasing 200-

Can’t take the credit from how good a bowler Trent Boult is in the powerplay and he bowled extremely well. It was always going to be a challenge to come out here and chase 200 with early wickets in the powerplay,” said DC’s skipper in the post-match interview.

While in the last game, Shaw came as an impact player to chase down the 200-run target but was dismissed on a duck by RR’s left-arm seamer, Trent Boult, on the third ball of the very first over. Later on the very next ball, Boult took the wicket of Manish Pandey.

It’s always difficult when we are losing wickets at the other end. It is frustrating. I have been hitting a lot of the fielders of late, but I will keep going out there and back myself,” he said, adding 175-180 was the par score here.

We are professional athletes, and have to go back in the nets. It’s about executing, and hopefully we can regroup,” he further added.

Coming to the match, at Barsapara cricket stadium, Rajasthan Royals batted and posted 199/4, after the end of the innings, the inaugural edition winners side’s openers, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal together added 98 runs and gave the ideal start to their side, England’s limited-overs format skipper, Buttler was the highest scorer with 79 runs, while later in the innings Shimron Hetmyer played a blazing knock of 39 runs in 21 balls.

While in the chase DC’s skipper, David Warner was the lone warrior as he came to open and was dismissed in the 19th over of the game. Warner scored 65 runs, while at the other end, batters were dismissed regularly, there was some effort shown by Lalit Yadav with his 38 runs in 24 balls, but eventually, Delhi based side was short of the target, and posted 142/9 at the end of 20 overs.

Now for their 4th game of IPL2023, DC’s side will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Delhi on April 11.
