There were concerns regarding the health of former SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella who was reportedly been suffering from coronavirus in the month of March. Mella and her boyfriend Corey Graves was spending time in self-isolation and thus missed a lot of TV tapings. She was also not seen at the Wrestlemania multi-women match over the Smackdown women’s championship.
Bad News For WWE: Fans May Not Return To Live Events For A Long Time
But Carmella was back for TV tapings during last week’s episode of Smackdown. A fan asked if she’s been sick with coronavirus as a WWE employee has been diagnosed with COVID-19, recently. The concern grew bigger as that employee was said to be appearing on WWE television. As clarified by the former miss Money in the Bank, it wasn’t her.
Carmella stated the following through a post on Twitter stating that she never had to deal with the deadly virus, at all,
“I appreciate your concern, but don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Fortunately, I’ve been healthy through all of this.”

Coronavirus: 2020 Money In The Bank & WWE European Tour Officially Canceled
Thus, the earlier reports of both Corey Graves and Carmella being sick from coronavirus symptoms appeared to be completely false. They elected to stay home in Pittsburgh instead of traveling to the WWE Performance Center which fuelled up the rumors. But it’s safe news for the talents who don’t have a colleague who may have had dealt with the pandemic.
Recently, WWE informed the superstars of one positive coronavirus case within the company. It was later confirmed via an official statement. The employee was not identified as WWE never revealed his name in the first place, but it was said that they are doing better.
All superstars who came in contact with this employee were cleared to travel on April 9th. He has spent 14 days in quarantine and is now fully cleared to travel.
Due to the coronavirus situation, the WWE schedule is going through some topsy-turvy situation, right now. Earlier they were filming a month’s worth of content at once. But, Vince McMahon decided that they will produce live television shows from the WWE Performance Center from this week onwards.
This move came out of nowhere making WWE talents unhappy for obvious reasons. It’ll be interesting to see whether the same live schedule is followed for the next few weeks.
