Bellator MMA star Cris Cyborg appeared in a recent interview with Jensen Karp on the latest episode of The No-Sports Report to express her interest in the pro wrestling business.
When it comes to jumping ships, WWE becomes the first choice for obvious reasons. She seemed interested to pursue a career in the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world who also expressed her desire to take on Ronda Rousey inside the squared circle.
WWE Wanted Legendary Hulk Hogan To Appear At Wrestlemania 36
Ever since her MMA career has winded down, Cris Cyborg wanted to start a career in the WWE which did not happen, to date. She has been pushing for a fight with former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. In the present circumstance, a fight between these two stars can’t happen since they won’t go back to Octagon but a match could happen.
Check out below statements from Cris Cyborg as she continues to seek a match against perhaps the best female MMA athlete of all-time,
“Imagine if this happened. The fans would go crazy. It’s going to be nice, you know, I think it’s cool. If, you know, we have the opportunity to have [the match] in MMA, to have the opportunity to in pro-wrestling I think is going to be great.
Yeah, I’m open to do it. I know she’s already there. I know she likes to do it, and here we can do something cool. I think for the fans, for them, I think it’s going to be very cool. Epic.” (courtesy sescoops.com)
Cris Cyborg seemed very much interested in making the jump to the world of pro wrestling while she made it clear that she wouldn’t put her MMA career on hold for the WWE.
Revealed: WWE Has Huge Comeback Plans For Ronda Rousey
It means that she does not have any plan to move to the scripted world of fighting, on a permanent basis. But she also expects a nice opportunity could come up to her at some point in her career that could be nice.
Back in 2017, Cris Cyborg wanted a fight against current Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch during SummerSlam. These two traded shots to each other on Twitter to indicate that WWE perhaps brought them together to make a dream fight happen which was not the case, at all.
As for Ronda Rousey, she is currently waiting to make a return to the pro-wrestling ring by ending an impregnation vacation that started from WrestleMania 35 onwards in 2019.
The speculation is that she will come back as a monstrous heel on the female roster to reignite a feud against Becky Lynch so that the one-on-one bout between these two finally takes place.
