Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has thanked Shoaib Akhtar, who had shown unconditional support for the leg-spinner. Earlier, Akhtar had revealed that Hindu minority players like Kaneria faced discriminatory behaviour in the Pakistan dressing room. Akhtar’s debatable comment attracted everyone across the world.
On Wednesday, a Twitter user asked Kaneria how did he feel after Akhtar had extended unconditional support. Answering to the tweet, Kaneria remarked that Akhtar’s words are ‘as blunt as his bowling’. While adding, he felt that he was being punished to play for his country.

“Shoaib Akhtar pulled u in headlines…How did u feel? #AskDanish”, a twitter user asked.
“His words are also as blunt as his bowling. It is a fact that I didn’t get any support from PCB. They don’t want to even talk to me. I feel that I am being punished for being a player from the minority community in Pakistan. #AskDanish,” Danish Kaneria replied.

Danish Kaneria ‘second Hindu’ to feature in Pakistan team:
Last year in December, Akhtar has revealed that Pakistan players ‘refused to eat with Kaneria as he was a Hindu’. After his comment, Kaneria also opened up and asserted that every word said by speedster is true. He also thanked the cricket lovers who were supporting him after the case becomes public.
The former cricketer has featured in 61 Tests for Pakistan. He has picked 261 wickets in Tests while in ODI he bagged 15 wickets in 18 games. Kaneria was found guilty of spot-fixing while playing for English club Essex and was banned from the sport.
In 2018, after years of denying his guilt, he accepted that he was involved in spot-fixing in 2009.
Currently, the former cricketer owns a YouTube Channel where he has 206K subscribers. In his videos, he keeps his viewers updated about cricket world.
