The SmackDown Women’s Championship was inaugurated back in 2016 with the brand split in effect in the WWE. Monday Night Raw and SmackDown were separated as the WWE officials decided to bring a second title for the blue brand.
The latest update on the title is that Bayley has now earned a new record with the women’s championship available on Friday Nights.

As of December 27th, Bayley has become the longest-reigning holder of SmackDown Women’s Title counting her both runs. No other woman in WWE held the title more combined days than the current champion Bayley has.

She has surpassed Becky Lynch’s previous record of 216 combined days as champion. December 27th marked the 217th day that Bayley has spent with the title.

Both of Bayley’s two title reigns with the Smackdown Women’s Championship came in 2019, itself. She won the championships for the first time at the Money in the Bank 2019 pay-per-view in Hartford Connecticut on May 19th by cashing in the opportunistic briefcase. She lost the title to Charlotte Flair at the Hell in a Cell from Sacramento, this October.

But just 5 days later, she won it back on Smackdown and turn heel for the first time in his WWE career. The babyface hugger character has become stale which is why WWE creative gave her a completely new look and attitude. However, lack of planning did not help her title run, to date.
As of now, she and her buddy Sasha Banks is involved in a feud with Lacey Evans that might produce a title match at Royal Rumble 2020.
