WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is one of the top stars that WWE has produced in recent times. He went on to become the main-eventer name for WrestleMania 36 defeating Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship.
It should be noted that he’s been one of the most over wrestlers in 2020 ever since winning the Men’s Royal Rumble match and WWE made good use of it heading into the show of shows.
As of now, Drew McIntyre resides on top of the food chain of the WWE roster who is not content with what he’s got. Rather, the reigning champion wants a match against another big name and it is none other than The Undertaker.
Over the years, The Deadman and Scottish Psychopath have crossed paths several times in the past, but that had converted into a proper singles feud.

Drew McIntyre recently took to Twitter to mention that he still has some unfinished business with The Phenome. As revealed during the session, he was originally set to face Taker at an early point in his career. That didn’t happen and he still believes that the match would end up happening.
I returned to WWE with some significant goals & unfinished business. So far, so good…but there’s still plenty left to achieve.#TheLastRide https://t.co/2VIdo5FOsR pic.twitter.com/u0DeEyJAMR

While speaking to BT Sport, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre revealed that WWE had plans for him to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 in 2010,
“When I was 24 I was told by Vince McMahon, ‘you don’t listen to anybody but The Undertaker, he’s going to be your mentor and whenever you’ve got a question you go straight to him’. And the inevitable goal was to have a big match between him and I.
Unfortunately I wasn’t ready at the time, things worked out the way they worked out, and I believe it led to, instead of myself and Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker, the retirement match. It was obviously a phenomenal match and I could not have delivered on that level at the time.” (courtesy wwfoldschool.com)

The Undertaker faced Shawn Michaels for two years in a row in a “Streak vs. Career” match at that event whereas Drew McIntyre only remained as a promising superstar.
For those who don’t know, Drew McIntyre debuted in the WWE as The Chosen One who was handpicked by Vince McMahon, himself. He was set to get a huge push in the company that didn’t happen. Less experience appeared to be a barrier in his push.
WWE eventually released Drew McIntyre in 2016 who ended up having a one-off stint in Impact Wrestling. Thereafter, he came back to WWE to become the NXT Champion who has also picked up the top-most prize one can expect to have in sports entertainment.
Last year, McIntyre teamed with Shane McMahon to compete against Roman Reigns and The Undertaker. But he’s focused to get a singles contest against The Deadman. Only time will tell if WWE would ever set it up.
