WWE.com has announced that this week within the company will officially be known as the “Women’s Evolution Week”. They’ll be promoting the same via all their digital and social media channels to showcase the efforts and dedications shown by the women superstars to make the entire process a success and put themselves on the map.
All of WWE platforms will be releasing content around the growth of the WWE women’s division, especially over the past five years. The journey of Evolution originally began when the “Four Horsewomen” (Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair) from WWE NXT made their debut on the main roster. Stephanie McMahon herself gave them an introduction and kicked things off.

It should be noted that Evolution began on July 13th, which is exactly four years ago from today when the four-horsewomen arrived at the expense of Nikki Bella’s longest-reigning Divas Championship reign and thus they set the course for a new era for years to follow. As the women continue to etch new path for them, WWE hyped the moments with the following statements,
“Five years ago on July 13, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks arrived to Raw, signaling a change for women’s wrestling in WWE. In honor of this landmark night in sports-entertainment history, WWE will celebrate Women’s Evolution Week on its digital and social channels all this week.

It should be noted that WWE also hosted the first and only all-women pay-per-view event named Evolution that took place on October 28, 2018. It was an acknowledgment of the entire progression achieved by the women where they’re no longer get distinguished from the male superstars.
The PPV card featured bouts including a brutal Last Women Standing Match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship whereas the main event saw Ronda Rousey successfully defending against Nikki Bella.
In recent times, there’s been a lot of talks about bringing back Evolution pay-per-view in WWE’s calendar. Despite being a successful show, WWE decided to dodge the show, last year. But it is in the pipeline in WWE’s creative perspective, as confirmed by Stephanie McMahon during an interview with TalkSPORT.
“It is certainly something that we are pushing for. There’s no official announcement just yet and yes, there was a balls in the air and wheels in motion in terms of this year and, of course, one of the big focuses was on our event in Saudi Arabia and having our women being allowed to perform. I’m hopeful to have an announcement on an Evolution 2, but there is nothing official to announce just yet.”
