“Who’s Next?” was answered on last night’s SmackDown as we received a new Universal Championship match in the process. WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg is now confirmed to participate in the upcoming WWE Super ShowDown event. He will challenge WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the blue belt at the Saudi Arabia show.

SmackDown of this week was hyped up with the appearance of the legendary Goldberg who was about to note on his potential next opponent. But his live appearance was canceled for some unknown reasons as they captured him live via satellite from his home in Texas. According to Michael Cole, the veteran was not backstage at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Goldberg went right to the point mentioning that he had his sights set towards Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Although Bray Wyatt was loaded up with confidence for the suture showdown, Goldberg sent him a warning before going off the air. The veteran won’t go down without a fight, for sure especially considering this is a title match.

This is the first time that Goldberg is stepping inside the ring since SummerSlam 2019. Meanwhile, this is the first time he would compete in a title match after a gap of almost three years.

WWE’s return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia takes place on Thursday, February 27 in the form of Super ShowDown on WWE Network. Goldberg vs. The Fiend could serve as the main event on a show that emanates from King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
