With Super ShowDown approaching closer, rumors were flying high that WWE would bring in a legendary name, Sting to perform in a match. Technically, he is disqualified from competition for a long time in the WWE context as the doctors have uncleared him from action due to a neck concussion. But a desperate trying began if there’s a way available to bring him out of retirement at any cost.
Dream Match Waiting For Goldberg At WWE Super Showdown 2020
As it was reported following Royal Rumble, PWInsider.com was the first source to note that there were talks of WWE Hall of Famer Sting making a comeback on WWE TV. He was supposed to be a major part of the WWE Super ShowDown 2020 pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia on February 27. Even a dream match against The Undertaker was also said to be on the card that has now been completely nixed out.
The latest updates from the same source have confirmed that the talks of Sting working at Super ShowDown 2020 have ‘died down’. And so did the possibility of seeing him in a match,
“As noted several weeks ago in The Elite section of PWInsider, there had been a push for Sting to be used at the 2/27 event, but as of last night, we are told those talks have died down.”
With that being said, the much-anticipated return for the former WCW franchise is no more in the works, as of now. However, there are many more such Saudi Arabia shows are ahead of us and you never know when the Icon may just show up making a miraculous comeback from the neck concussion.
However, there’s no need for WWE fans to get upset about this absence. It is now confirmed that Goldberg is returning to make up the absence of Sting. As stated in the below comments on WWE.com, The Myth is gearing up for his next opponent,
“Who’s next for Goldberg? We’re about to find out.
As revealed on RAW, the former Universal Champion and WWE Hall of Famer’s next moves will be revealed this Friday on SmackDown, where he’ll provide the WWE Universe’s answer to that eternal question: “Who’s next?”
Tune in to Friday Night SmackDown, live this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.”
