England’s prominent cricketer Sam Curran has not been able to show his full potential in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He has bagged a solitary wicket in two games after being purchased for the whopping amount of INR 18.5 crores by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2023 mega auctions. Thus, Curran became the highest-paid player in IPL history.

Shikhar Dhawan-led PBKS won their both games in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. Punjab won their last match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets.

Sam Curran looks to take one game at a time in IPL 2023-

“I guess they buy you for a reason and they’ve put a lot of faith in me. I don’t put too much pressure on myself and focus on the bat and ball. Hopefully, I can show some good performances. The price tag is what it is,” Curran said.

Sam Curran was the Player of the Tournament when England lifted the T20 World Cup in Australia last year.

“It’s early in the competition. We’ve started well, but it’s a long tournament, and hopefully, we can take it game by game. I had two great years at Chennai. Punjab haven’t won it yet, but hopefully, I can change those fortunes. I am just trying to enjoy it and take it one game at a time,” he further added.

The left-arm pacer made his IPL debut in 2019 for a Punjab-based franchise. He will look to put an impressive performance in Indian conditions to make his case strong for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup for defending champions–England.

The Kings have won their first two games in the IPL 2023, defeating the Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati and the Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali. Now, for the 3rd game of the season, the Kings will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the evening game on April 9 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
