This has been quite an odd WrestleMania season which passed by without any promotions or so-called extravaganza arrangements. The coronavirus pandemic has made life unstable throughout the world but WWE pulled off a tremendous job by hosting WrestleMania in the usual schedule. Vince McMahon was the one who was hell-bent in not pushing WrestleMania to a later date. He was the innovator of the thought that WrestleMania was needed more than anything this year as the fans have been sitting at home and needed the entertainment to spend time. This is the reason why WWE also put emphasis on airing different wrestling pay-per-view programs on different channels to garner more viewerships.

It was noted that WWE has been airing multiple WrestleManias and other events on various sports channels as all other sports outlets closed their schedules. WWE continued to air current Raw and SmackDown episodes whereas the previous big events have also aired. WrestleMania 32 on ESPN ended up getting the highest viewership,

“Vince is going with the idea that the more places that have this and the more eyeballs that watch this week which is why they’re flooding things.

They had the Royal Rumble on FS1 and they’re having WrestleManias on ESPN. They’re airing things up in Canada — with no other sports WrestleMania was the highest-rated program on ESPN for the entire week.

So, they wanna flood the market that way there are more eyeballs and with eyeballs, the idea is that they have popularity.”

With uncertainty over the entire coronavirus situation, there’s no real update available when the other sports will commence their schedule. Until that happens, WWE will have the advantage to hijack some major slots on TV by airing older pay-per-view shows.
