Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has coined his opinion for the winner of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. While the tournament begins on March 31, with the opening game against defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
While, Vaughan also informed on Twitter, that for the 16th edition of IPL, he will be part of the Cricbuzz team.

“I think it’s going to be @rajasthanroyals year .. they will be lifting the trophy in late May .. #OnOn #IPL2023,” Vaughan said in his tweet. Rajasthan Royals last lifted the IPL trophy in 2008 – the inaugural season of the cash-rich league,” put by the Former English skipper on Twitter.
While the Royals won the inaugural edition of the IPL trophy in 2008, in the last edition RR made it to the IPL final. Sanju Samson-led side finished second on the IPL 2022 points table. With 9 wins and 5 defeats, the Rajasthan-based club picked up 18 points from 14 matches last season.

Rajasthan side was defeated by Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 final at Narendra Modi Stadium by 7 wickets and 11 balls remaining, while the Royals batted first and scored 130/9.
Earlier, the former England skipper slammed the Indian team as underachievers in white-ball cricket ahead of the all-important ODI World Cup scheduled later this year. India recently suffered a defeat against Australia on home soil after four long years.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Vaughan was always vocal about his opinion in International cricket feels India has so much talent in the country, but has underachieved in white-ball cricket so far. After the completion of the ODI series, Michael Vaughan tweeted.
The 50-over World Cup is scheduled to be played in India later this year and the hosts would begin the competition as favourites. As the last three ODI World Cups are won by the home team, India will look to make full use of the Indian conditions to end India’s title drought in ICC events.
